FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM
A fire sprinkler system is a network of pipes and sprinkler heads designed to automatically control or extinguish fires by releasing water. These systems are a crucial active fire protection measure, often mandated in various buildings and occupancies like hospitals, schools, and hotels.
How it works:
- Detection: When a fire occurs, heat or smoke detectors trigger the system.
- Actuation: The sprinkler heads, which are strategically placed throughout the building, activate when the temperature reaches a predetermined level.
- Water Release: Once activated, the sprinkler heads release water, which is stored under pressure in the pipes, to suppress the fire.
- Controlled Suppression: The water discharge from the activated sprinkler heads helps to control the fire, allowing for safe evacuation and reducing the spread of damage.
